January is almost here and you know what that means? Companies are hiring!
While finding jobs in this economy is no easy task, most places look to do their hiring at the start of a new year in order to get people on board and prepared to execute new yearly plans.
So with that in mind, I’m curious to know just what types of jobs people are looking to pursue. Whether you currently have a position or you’re pursuing one, please take a look at the poll below and submit a response.
Sure you have, because it’s easy to get frustrated in this business.
Maybe it was the time the client made you put together pages and pages of reports, you sent it off, and never heard about it again that made you question their true intentions of how they wanted to utilize your team? Or maybe it was when you pushed back on a client’s campaign idea and they decided to move forward with it despite your concerns?
But don’t forget the other side of the coin. The times when your client came to you for advice on how to really build up excitement about a new product being launched, or needed your counsel on how to drive people to their social media communities.
At the end of the day (I never said this term before I got into PR), we’ve all worked on something we didn’t fully understand or agree with, but we’ve also worked on some great projects as well, and it’s made me further believe that that companies hire PR agencies to be partners with them and not just to dump piles of tedious work on their plates.
Maybe I’m just one of the lucky ones who’s gotten the chance to work on lots of accounts with clients who primarily want PR counsel and not just worker bees? Or maybe I’m being naive to think this is mostly the case throughout the PR community?
Instead of moving forward with an article this week that discusses a topic that you may be interested in, I’ve decided to ask what you are most interested in reading about. In other words … help me, help you!
This way, instead of acting like a know-it-all blogger, I’ll have some valuable insight into what you, the readers, would like to see more of and I will try to tailor the coverage on PR at Sunrise more closely to what you’d like to learn about in the future. Sound good?
With that in mind, please answer the poll question below:
Now, if one of the biggest agencies in the world was willing to accept this task, wouldn’t other large agencies do this as well? Or, can you even imagine the type of excitement a boutique firm would have if it found out it had a chance to land this type of account?
But I’m not here to say whether or not what Burson did or how they did it was right or wrong, I’m just trying to find out how many people really believe their PR agency would have ultimately turned down an opportunity to work with Facebook on this assignment. Please take the poll below and let’s find out!
