10. People call you by your Twitter handle instead of your real name
9. You hate the fact that someone else is the foursquare Mayor of your company
8. You check for new messages on your Twitter and Facebook accounts more often than you check your e-mail or text messages
7. Just because you are active on social media networks everyone assumes you are a social media expert
6. You’ve created a foursquare check-in for your office desk or cube
5. When you need advice you first reach out to your followers before speaking with personal friends
4. Co-workers constantly ask how you have so much time to Tweet
3. Anytime someone mentions the words ‘social media’ in a brainstorm you’re the first name that comes up in the conversation
2. You get more upset when your favorite blog isn’t mentioned in a rankings list vs. when your clients blog isn’t listed in one
And the number one sign you are the official social media nerd of your company..
1. You’d rather work on a viral campaign for a client than secure a segment on Oprah

Here is another one – you are a nerd when you spend more time on social sites than your 16 year old son.
lol – true!
Fantastic list!! All SO true!
Thanks, Stephanie!
And another…even your email pitches are 140 characters.
Good suggestion, Jenna!
When are they gonna remake ‘Revenge Of The Nerds’
…and while they are at it ‘Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes’
(OK, that second one was off topic)
I’m ashamed to say I haven’t seen either movie..

Good one!
Great list! Here’s one: if you forget your lunch, your sunglasses or your briefcase at home, you won’t backtrack more than a block. But leave your smartphone and you’ll retrace your entire commute, sweating the entire time wondering if you’re missing any important texts!
Too true!!
Adorable. Purely adorable.
Thanks, Ef!
haha, yep, that’s me.
Welcome to the club!

That would be me. Also because nearly everyone in my office behaves as if it’s soooo hard to understand what Twitter is! Don’t even try to mention Foursquare!
foursquare is where Twitter was 2yrs ago. Will it become as big? That’s yet to be determined
haahahhahahahah nice one!
Thanks, Emi!
This is absolutely awesome, what a great list and premise. Who is Oprah?
You kid
How about these:
You introduce your teenage kids to the latest thing–instead of the other way around.
When you meet someone at a conference face to face, you feel a momentary shock over the differences between the real person and the avatar.
At conferences when people put their real names on their nametags, you ask what theirTwitter handles are.
And–you laughed at this whole list.
@BarbChamberlain
Excellent suggestions, Barb!
So true.:) Evey point well-taken.:)
Glad you enjoyed the post!
